Buying a distillery means you should be clear about its main area of use: distilling essential oils or distilling schnapps. Distillery should be optimized for the purpose.
In a direct distillation of the essential oils contained in flowers and leaves many of the aromas would be destroyed because the evaporation temperatures of these oils are well above the evaporation point of the water. As aroma-conserving method, therefore, the steam distillation is used. For this purpose, steam with sufficient dynamics is generated, which flows through the plant material contained in the plant basket. In the process, the oils dissolve out of the plants, attach themselves to the water molecules and are hauled out piggyback. In the cooler, the Hydrolatdampf is cooled quickly. In the sampling jar, the water-insoluble oils settle on the hydrosolate (lighter oil) or on the base (heavier oil) depending on the type. With the help of an oil separator, the oils are easily separated from the hydrolate. But superheated steam can destroy many heat-sensitive ethereal aromas. Therefore, it must be ensured by suitable choice of the device parameters that overheating is excluded as far as possible. This can be achieved by minimizing flow losses at the bottom of the plant basket as well as by minimizing the pressure of the boiler by avoiding pressure losses due to the reduction of the cross section during the transition from the steam pipe to the cooler.

The DESTILLIERMEISTER model series E-XXXX Premium take account of this fact. Special basket bottoms with high permeability and precondensation of the hydrolate vapor enabled the optimization target to be achieved. The boiler pressure could be reduced from over 1000 Pascal to less than 10 Pascal, so that a steam overheating is practically impossible.

Of these, our top model is the DESTILLIERMEISTER JUMBO E7448 Premium with a maximum capacity of 48 liters of plants. In the premium models, the temperature is now measured at the point where they are interested, namely directly in the plant room.

The DESTILLIERMEISTER JUMBO Premium Professional D70-Plus is the larger of 2 top models of the DESTILLIERMEISTER series. In the new versions, the countercurrent high-performance coolers are now set up separately. This significantly simplifies the design and handling. For reloading the boiler, the coolers no longer have to be moved. In terms of price, this distillation plant is still located in the hobby sector, but already has all the prerequisites for the professional production of noble distillates for small distillers. The high-end small distilleries, which are just as well suited for the production of high-quality aromatic fruit brandies as for the distilled alcohol from pure fruit pomace or from starchy products such as grain and potatoes, this 65 liter plant is at a top price of less than € 3000, - still well below the starting price of comparable investments in the professional sector, whose acquisition costs start in the five-digit range. The DESTILLIERMEISTER JUMBO Premium Professional is therefore a real alternative for small burners who want to avoid the high investment costs of a professional plant in the highly competitive alcohol market.
The system is operated in different modes. The realization of cooling and process water supply for the Dephlegmator via separate cooling paths for the pre- / after-run on the one hand and the middle run (Edelbrand) on the other. This avoids the risk that the inferior distillation fractions will not mix with the good brandy. In the present plant, both rectifier column and rectifier removal / reflux ratio control apparatus employ a controllable dephlegmator / flavor in the stainless steel helmet. The advantage over a pure column system, which has rather static parameters, is the controllability of flow and return, which makes the firing process more dynamic. Each distiller can determine the optimum operating conditions for his plant.
Only basic recommendations for the operation are given here. For pre- and post-run separation, settings adjusted to the respective task can be made. For fans of classic potstill distillations, the dephlegmator can also be easily turned off. The actual dephlegmator operationis generally required for the double distilling process for the fine distillate, because only the separation of pre-and post-run. For the crude destillate the dephlegmator can either remain switched off or be operated hot over the entire course, so that even here a higher alcohol concentration is achieved in the distillate.

This type of distillery is particularly thick-walled and made of high-quality stainless steel. It has a volume of up to 60 liters together with the expansion pots. For better heat distribution, the bottom consists of a 3-layer capsule bottom, which is also capable of induction. This will offer a professional distillery of variable size. The expansion pots can be used as burn pot extension, as a flavor basket for fruit spirit production, as a plant basket for the distillation of essential oils by steam-to-tow distillation or as booster columns for liquor burning. Distilleries are offered with one or two amplifier columns. When using the 50 distillery as a distiller, one or two columns can be used. DISTILLIERMEISTER E3620 Supreme is an easy-to-use distillation system for essential oils in Supreme stainless steel quality. The amount of plants can be varied with the continuously adjustable aroma sieve. However, you should make sure that the thickness of the plant layer does not become too small, otherwise there is a risk that the steam will flow through without loosening the essential oils. The DESTILLIERMEISTER JUMBO-Premium WD42 Plus XX with pressurized water bath is the youngest member of our distillery family, which is just as well suited for the production of high-quality aromatic fruit brandies as for the alcohol distillation of pure fruit pomace or from starch-containing products such as grain and potatoes. The system is operated in different modes. In the present plant, both rectifier columns are used and, in order to control the distillate withdrawal / reflux ratio, a controllable dephlegmator is used in the stainless steel helmet. The advantage over a pure column system, which has static parameters, is the controllability of flow and return, which makes the firing process more dynamic and variable. Each distiller can determine the optimum operating conditions for his plant. Only basic recommendations for the operation are given here. For pre- and post-run separation, settings adjusted to the respective task can be made. For trailers of classical DC distillation, the dephlegmator can also be easily switched off. The rectification plates can now be removed so that unimpeded heat exchange is possible even via the extension units. For firing smaller quantities, a 12 liter module can also be removed. The lower combustion chamber and the two expansion units can, unlike in previous models, be firmly closed before putting on the helmet, so that even with increasing aging of the seals, the connection between the individual modules remains tight and over the entire height (less consideration rising space ) can be filled. The relevant bubble space is now actually 42 liters and this is also relevant for Customs, which in previous cases, where the pots were not firmly connected and separated by the trays, used only the lower bladder (20.5 liters) .

Der DESTILLIERMEISTER E10-55 Premium-Plus Modell 2023 ist eine erweiterte Variante des Modells E2-55 Premium Plus Modell 2023 mit einem Wasser-/Dampfkessel von über 10 Litern. Da hier der Wasservorrat in der Regel für mehrere Destillationen reicht, ist hier das Pflanzenrohr auf dem Wasserkessel verschraubbar konzipiert worden, damit es separat abgenommen werden kann, um es mit neuen Pflanzen oder Drogen zu füllen. Der Unterschied ist die komplette Aufständerung der Destillierbrücke incl. einer 3. Stütze für den Endkühler durch ein verstellbares Stativ, sodass Kessel und Pflanzenrohr zum Neufüllen herausgenommen werden kann und alles andere stehen bleibt. Das beschleunigt das Arbeiten damit erheblich. Das findet man weiter unten dokumentiert.

Der Vorkondensor zum druckverlustfreien Übergang zur Verflüssigung des Dampfes in den Kühler ist mit über 1 m Kühllänge komfotabel ausgestattet worden. Um das System kompakt zu halten, ist er gebogen konzipiert. Steigrohr und Vorkondensor sind miteinander verschraubbar gefertigt, so dass das System leichter handhabbar und variabler ist. Auch der Destillatkühler ist in gewundener Form ausgelegt und kann dadurch länger ausgelegt werden, ohne dass das System ausladend wird. Insgesamt ergeben Vorkondensor und Hauptkühler Kühllänge von über 2 m, so dass nur verhältnismäßig wenig Kühlwasser verbraucht wird.
Das Steigrohr des Premium-Plus Modells ist zur Minimierung der Rücktropfverluste isoliert. Insgesamt ist das Premium-Plus-Modell für die Gewinnung von ätherischen Ölen und Hydrolaten optimiert. Im Vorkondensor wird der Dampf verflüssigt, ohne dass in diesem 1. Schritt der Querschnitt beim Übergang des Dampfes vom Steigrohr in die Kühlung reduziert wird. Daher muss der Dampf hier nicht gegen einen Druckberg anströmen, was zu Ölverlusten führen würde, aber auch die Temperatur an den Pflanzen ist damit niedriger als ohne Vorkondensor. Erst beim beim Übergang in den Endkühler wird der Querschnitt reduziert, erzeugt aber keinen Strömungswiderstand mehr, weil der Dampf mittlerweile verflüssigt ist.
Zur Anmerkung: Druckverluste im Leitungssystem wirken sich als Druckerhöhung im Pflanzenrohr aus, der Dampf muss also gegen einen Druckberg arbeiten. Das schadet den ätherischen Ölen und vermindert deren Qualität.

Aus früheren Versuchen mit dem DESTILLIERMEISTER E2-55 Premium wissen wir, dass sich das optimale Verhältnis von Pflanzenrohrhöhe zu Pflanzenrohrdurchmesser positiv auf die Effizienz auswirkt. Wegen der größeren Verdampfungsfläche des Wasserkessels wird die Destillationsgeschwindigkeit signifikant erhöht, was eine Verkürzung der Destillationsdauer und eine kürzere Aufenthaltsdauer der ätherischen Öle in einer heißen Umgebung bewirkt. Es wirkt sich also auch auf die Qualität der Destillate aus.

Für die allermeisten Pflanzen und Blüten reicht der Wasservorrat für 6 bis 7 Destillationen bei Entnahme von 1 Liter Destillat pro Destillation. Wenn die Entnahme von einem Liter Hydrolat pro Destillation aber einmal nicht ausreicht, was wir z. B. bei der Destillation von Fenchelsamen festgestellt haben, reicht der Wasservorrat für mindestens 2 Destillationen. Das bringt eine deutliche Zeitersparnis bei der Arbeit verglichen mit dem 2 Liter - Dampfkessel. Die Verwendung eines großen Kessels zur Hydrolat Gewinnung ist auch in Deutschland völlig legal. Sie müssen einen Kessel über 2 Liter aber dem Zoll melden, dürfen ihn dann uneingeschränkt nutzen, auch für den Privatgebrauch.
Durch das isolierte Steigrohr werden Rücktropf-Verluste bereits reduziert. Die Rücktropf-Verluste lassen sich weiter reduzieren, indem man das Pflanzen-Rohr ebenfalls isoliert, z. B. mit einer Decke. Damit ist dann eine höhere Öl-Ausbeute zu erwarten.

Mit 5,5 Liter Pflanzenraum haben sie reichlich Volumen, um größere Mengen Pflanzen oder Drogen zu verarbeiten. Durch Hochstellen des Aromakorbes können Sie aber auch mit kleineren Mengen experimentieren, sie sollten dann aber mit verminderter Heizleistung arbeiten, damit der Dampf nicht einfach ohne Wirkung das Pflanzengut durchströmt. Da die Dampferzeugung in einem extra Kessel unter dem Pflanzenbehälter stattfindet, ist eine Berührung mit kochendem Wasser ausgeschlossen. Sie sollten den Kessel aber nur mit maximal 9 Liter füllen, damit sich der Dampf im Kessel entwickeln kann und bei Siedeverzug kein heißes Wasser mit hochgezogen wird.
Wasser- / Dampfbehälter und Pflanzen-/ Drogenrohr, sowie alle destillatführenden Rohrleitungen sind in hochwertigem Edelstahl ausgeführt.

There are variable usage variants for distilling schnapps. In this way, aromatic fruit brandies can be produced or, by increasing the column resistance, they can also be used very well for cleaning alcohol. Easy to use:

Pour 1.5 liters into the water / steam boiler,
Put the seal with the long lip facing inwards over the edge of the boiler,
Put on cover 2 and close with the latches (1.1).
Attach 3 liter plant tube (3).
Insert the aroma basket (8) and fill it with up to 3 liters of herbs or drugs - just compress slightly,
Put the seal - as described above - over the edge of the plant tube.
Put on the cover (4) and tension the latches (3.2).
Insert the distillation bridge 5 into the socket 4.1.
Screw suitable cooling water hoses to the radiator with 1/2 "hose screw connections, water supply via 5.4, waste water via 5.5.
Switch on the heat source and at 5.6 collect hydrolates with oil. The distillate line 7 must not be immersed in the distillate.
With a full tube, distill a maximum of 15 to a maximum of 20 minutes at higher power (e.g. induction plate 1500 to 2000 watts). The heating output must be reduced for smaller quantities.

Mit über 4 Liter Pflanzenraum hast du reichlich Volumen, um auch größere Mengen Pflanzen oder Drogen zu verarbeiten. Die Dampferzeugung erfolgt in einem extra Kessel unter dem Pflanzenbehälter, so dass eine Berührung mit kochendem Wasser ausgeschlossen werden kann.

Einfache Handhabung:

Mindestens 1,3 Liter, nicht mehr als 1,7 Liter, idealer Weise entmineralisiertes oder destilliertes Wasser in den Wasser-/ Dampfkessel füllen, die größere Dichtung über den Kesselrand stülpen.
4 Liter Pflanzenrohr aufsetzen und den Kessel mit den Spannverschlüssen 1.1 verschließen.
Den Aromakorb in das Pflanzenrohr hineinlegen und aufklappen.
Bis zum Rand Kräuter oder Drogen einfüllen - nicht stauchen. Es sind etwa 4,2 Liter. Die kleine Dichtung über den Rand stülpen.
Deckel 3. aufsetzen und die Verschlüsse 2.4 spannen,
Destillierbrücke 4 in die Buchse 3.1 stecken,
Kühlwasserschläuche an den Kühler schrauben - die sind mit den passenden Verschraubungen im Paket 7 enthalten.
Heizquelle einschalten und bei 4.6 Hydrolat mit Öl auffangen.
Etwa 15 Minuten bei höherer Leistung (Induktionsplatte 1500 bis 2000 Watt) destillieren. Es sollten 500 ml Destillat sein.
Wasser- / Dampfbehälter und Pflanzen-/ Drogenrohr, sowie alle Destillatführende Rohrleitungen und Verbindungen sind in Edelstahl ausgeführt.
