Hohe Qualität:

  • Leistungsfähiger Gegenstromkühler mit 1,2 m Mantellänge. Bei diesem Kühler läuft ein dünneres Rohr (Seele) durch ein Mantelrohr. Durch die Seele fließt das Destillat. Zwischen Seele und Mantel wird im Gegenstrom Kühlwasser durchgeleitet. Aufgrund der spiralförmigen Wasserführung ist die Strömung zwischen Seele und Mantel bereits bei kleinen Strömungsgeschwindigkeiten turbulent. Das bewirkt eine effektive Wärmeübergabe vom Destillat ins Kühlwasser. Aufgrund dessen und wegen der komfortablen Länge des Kühlers wird nur mäßig Kühlwasser benötigt.

Powerful counterflow cooler with 1,5 m jacket length. In this cooler, a thinner tube (core) runs through a jacket tube. The distillate flows through the soul. Cooling water is passed in countercurrent between the soul and the mantle. Due to the spiral water flow, the flow between the core and the jacket is turbulent even at low flow speeds. This causes an effective heat transfer from the distillate to the cooling water. Because of this and because of the comfortable length of the cooler, only moderate cooling water is required

This system is also excellent for the distillation of hydrolates and essential oils, as well as suitable for fruit and herbal spirit production using alcohol vapor distillation.

Unlike the Austrian version, our Leonardo comes with aroma sieve that can be placed above approx. 1.75 litres. Maximum holding capacity: 2 litres.

The CopperGarden® LEONARDO is made of copper and one of the best choices for essential oils. The steam pathways are short and the column space extra large to fit plenty of plant material. 

Important note: Distilling is restricted and even prohibited in many countries. Please inform yourself about your local laws prior to purchasing and operating a copper still. Distilling essential oils and hydrosols is legal in most countries upon registering the still with the authorities.

Foldable mash strainer to avoid burning. In the case of mashes with residual starch, it is recommended to additionally put a boil-proof linen cloth (kitchen towel) on the mash sieve to filter out the starch. It is best to fill a layer of water under the mash strainer. To identify the risk of scorching, either do an iodine starch test or take a small amount of liquid mash and heat it in a small stainless steel pot to identify the risk of scorching. If you use a suitable pectinase in addition to whiskey malt, you also reduce the risk of scorching.
