"CopperGarden®" still "Karibik" (0,5 L) with spirit lamp
The design of this two-column still is the predecessor of the modern, present day column stills. Armagnac and rum are distilled in France and the Caribbean even today in this type of distillery. By use of a second and third container, high proof alcohol is rectified and, to a large extent, refined to a tasteless alcohol in one run.
If you want to produce high proof alcohol (or fuel) on a small scale, and use different rectification steps for display purposes, you would be well served by this still. But please note that because of the small size of the still and high rectification you cannot expect to obtain a large amount of alcohol.
The still is mounted on a wrought iron stand and fitted with a small spirit lamp. Due to the spirit lamp it is possible to heat sufficiently and to guide the vapor safely through the boiler. Another extra is that the junctions from swan neck to condenser are screwed together, so bothersome sealing is not required. Furthermore, the still is beautiful to look at and makes a special present for collectors and lovers of high proof spirits
A magnificent piece of craftsmanship – with which you can also distil.
Tips for using this still: it could be an advantage to warm up the boiler a little. In addition, if you place a tea light under the boiler you could increase the alcohol yield.
Important information:
Distillation is strictly regulated or even forbidden in some countries. Please inform yourself and pay attention to the regulations in your country. We can ship worldwide, but we cannot check if you are allowed to own a still. Shipping within the EU is completely unrestricted. For shipping to countries outside the EU we have to affix the invoice and shipping list to the outside of the package. Up to now we have never had problems with the importation of our stills into other countries.
